Our NEW generative AI platform, VITA, has successfully received funding from the prestigious Innovate UK Smart grants
Our groundbreaking AI platform, VITA, has secured funding from the prestigious Innovate UK Smart grants. Out of 1900 project submissions, only 46 were approved, meeting the required standard and robust criteria, placing us in the top 2% of innovation projects in the entire nation.
Navigating the competitive landscape of innovation grants is no small feat, especially when the odds are as challenging as those presented by the Innovate UK Smart grants.
Innovate UK recognised the significant impact that VITA could have in a sector that is stretched year on year. This grant success not only provides financial support but also serves as a significant endorsement of our platform's innovative capabilities.
Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, is creating a better future by inspiring, involving and investing in businesses developing life-changing innovations. Innovate UK provide targeted sectors with expertise, facilities and funding to test, demonstrate and evolve their ideas, driving UK productivity and economic growth.
VITA represents a major advancement in supporting local authorities to effectively address the quality of EHCPs and the increasing demands placed on SEND services. By utilising a highly secure AI model, VITA aims to simplify the resource intensive process of writing Education, Health, and Care Plans, whilst increasing quality and keeping person-centered and individualisation at its core. This innovative platform carefully analyses and synthesises all the local expertise and professional advice. Its future plans will enable it to identify gaps and limitations, thus aiding in the development of comprehensive, person-centered initial draft plans that genuinely meet the needs of children and young people with SEND. The resource (time) saved by local authority professionals and SEND teams can be then redirected to other important activity, such as more coproduced meetings with children and families to refine the draft EHCP.
The potential impact of VITA on theSEND sector is immense. By assisting local authorities in efficiently drafting high-quality, person-centered EHCPs, VITA aims to greatly enhance the outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
This platform goes beyond technological innovation; it aspires to create a future where every child withSEND can meet their full potential. With the support of the Innovate UK SmartGrant, we are not just creating a platform; we are spearheading a movement to enable SEND professionals to devote more time to a holistic approach to SEND support.
The development of Invision360 products has been a collaborative journey marked by partnership. Over the past three years, we have worked closely with local authorities across England to build tools that improve the quality and consistency of care for vulnerable children. These partnerships have played a crucial role in shaping VITA, providing invaluable insights and feedback that have influenced its development so far.
To ensure VITA meets the needs of all stakeholders in the EHCP process, we have recently appointed a board of trusted advisors in the fields of SEND and generative AI.
As we begin this exciting journey with VITA, we are inviting local authorities to be part of this transformative project. There are still a few spaces available in the pilot phase, offering a unique opportunity for forward-thinking teams dedicated to excellence in SEND service delivery to join us in this innovative venture. By participating, you can help shape a tool that has the potential to redefine SEND service delivery and improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
